tourist day date

on the rare occasion that my hubby and i are off on a weekday together we try to make a day out of it.  it was a beautiful day so we decided to be tourists for the day.

first we went to spanish banks...since it was a weekday there were barely any people there

then we went to the granville island brewing co where we ordered a sampler..which was 4 mini pints of your choice of granville island beers on tap.

then we explored all the beauty that is granville island..

hubby ate a candy apple...

then we enjoyed the views...

we live in such a beautiful place...its dates like this where i actually realize how nice it really is.

i love Lace

i've always been so inlove with lace.  its pretty and sophisticated with kind of a vintage feel.  when i was picking out my wedding dress lace was one of the requirements that it had to have.  i just found out that american apparel is now selling lace clothing. hoorah!!

white rock beach

a couple of nights ago my hubby and i went for a walk on white rock beach after dinner. it was a little chilly but being by the ocean is so calming after a long day at work...we walked on the pier and people watched as the sun went down. moments like these are what make me so thankful that we live in such a beautiful place.

my new cupcake creation

all in the spirit of another hawaiian wedding shower..i made my version of pina colada cupcakes. the cake part is pineapple flavored cake and the icing is coconut flavored with coconut flakes sprinkled on top.

my hubby has been bugging me to try making rootbeer float cupcakes...so i guess that's my next project...i wonder how that will taste...  :S

reminiscing

around this time last year my hubby and i had engagement photos done. this was part of our wedding photography package. we were really nervous about taking them because we thought we would look awkward and un-photogenic..but our photographers did such an awesome job.

kids say the darnest things

tonite after dinner..the hubby and i went for ice cream with our cousins who live in the same neighbourhood as us. i love random nights they end up being the most memorable times. i was having a conversation with my 4 year old god-daughter. let me tell you something about my god-daughter. she has always been so well versed for her age ever since she was one. shes a very intelligent 4 year old..and it amazes me how fast shes growing up.

here is the conversation we had.

zoe: i still wear diapers.

ninang: you do? (taps zoe’s bum to see if there was a diaper)

ninang: zoe you don’t wear diapers anymore.

zoe: yes, i do…at night..because i can’t control myself at night.

i love when kids say things you don’t expect them to say..especially when they say it in a grown up way..lol
